Protoshape is run by me, Bathsheba Grossman. I'm a sculptor working with complex forms, and I became involved with CAD/CAM as a way to realize my own ideas, which are difficult to build by hand and mostly impossible to make molds of. My work is shown at Bathsheba.com. There's sculpture in direct-printed metal, along with scientific images in laser-etched glass. In this service bureau I aim to provide affordable rates, reliable service, and quality parts, along with guidance when it's needed. As an artist and RP user, I'm well equipped to mediate between the creative and CAD/CAM worlds: I've been through the learning curves and made the mistakes, and I'm happy to advise. I'm also thoroughly networked, and if I can't help you myself, I can often make a solid referral. So if you have a project in mind, whether it's jewelry, special effects, industrial, or something too new to have a name, let's try it.
